My husband and I are finally taking our very belated Honeymoon. We are going to Chicago for a week, and during our stay will be enjoying many cultural attractions.
We are arriving this Sunday, and will be Kimono shopping, and also visiting the Chicago Botanical Gardens. The Chicago Botanical Gardens on the 20th are hosting a Japanese Cultural event where the open public can interact with the Japanese wing of the garden and also make ‘Kimono Paper dolls’. http://www.chicago-botanic.org/explore/japanese.php – here is more info about Chicago’s Japanese Botanical Garden.
That night we will be going to dinner at http://www.japonaischicago.com/index2.html – I have a kimono packed just for Sunday! Sadly, I did not find any Japanese tearooms in the Chicago area. My husband and I really wanted to visit one.
The 21st we are visiting the Shed Aquarium, and then the 22nd we are visiting the Chicago Art Museum.
Once I get back, I will have photos to share from the various Japanese Cultural points of interest!
While in Chicago, we are staying that the #1 Bed & Breakfast in all of Chicago – http://www.harveyhousebb.com/ – For only $200 a night, this venue is a steal! Similar accomidations at hotels was running $400+!! Obviously, we have booked this room http://www.harveyhousebb.com/golden.html
