Two dolls, broken in body but not in spirit.

Standard

Two dolls, broken in body but not in spirit.

Sometime ago I saw these two girls in a antique mall. Their bodies are broken, there are parts missing, they have been undressed and poorly redressed yet from where they stood among the mess they called out to me. These dolls were once carefully made by someone who regarded them as an artform. Now they sit in decay, a broken reflection of what once was. I would have bought them, but the dealer had them marked far too high for my tastes (given the state they are in), so instead I snapped a few photos to share. One a maiko, one a geisha : two broken sisters.

*If you are into dolls and want me to pick these up for you and mail them to you let me know.

*Damage of note: missing one hand, torso was broken on one and weirdly reattached, both have been undressed and redressed slightly oddly.

Shockingly their hair and kanazashi was in great condition.
